Ivette Sanchez Cabrera was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut then moved to Puerto Rico at the age of 4 and was introduced to Salsa dancing at the age of 12. She fell in love with the art of Salsa dancing and her dream was to open a Salsa dance studio of her own. In 1996 her dream became a reality. She opened Ivette's Latin Rhythm Dance Studio on East Main Street, Bridgeport. The studio is now bigger and better at its new location in Stratford. Ivette is a highly qualified instructor with over 15 years of experience providing modern Salsa dance techniques for people of all ages. The Studio holds classes for adults and children.
Ivette and her staff strive to inspire students to learn and grow through the art of Salsa dancing. Salsa dancing or any form of dance offers discipline, creativity, individuality and confidence. These are important tools for life long success. Latin Rhythm's strongly supports this belief and is eager to pass its love, knowledge and respect of Salsa onto the students.
The studio provides a positive environment for children, allowing them to have a safe place to go. In most cases, instills in them a long love of dance and most importantly it is a fun way to exercise for both adults and children. The students form friendships and find themselves in an extended family environment.
The children hold fundraisers to help with the cost of tuitions, costumes, travel, etc. which enables them to develop responsibility. The Latin Rhythm Dancers are talented and have performed throughout the New England states entertaining communities from all cultures.
